Date-Ability is an 11-week group program helping adults with Autism and supported learning needs build the confidence, skills, and safety knowledge to form meaningful relationships.
Date-Ability is for adults aged 18+ living with Autism, intellectual disability, or other supported learning needs who want to build confidence in relationships.
For participants who want to expand their social circle, make new friends, and feel more comfortable in social settings.
For those curious about romantic relationships who want to understand dating, connection, and what a healthy relationship looks like.
For participants and their support teams who want to ensure they have the knowledge to stay safe in relationships — online and in person.
Each week builds on the last, moving from self-awareness through to real-world practice at our supported social event in Week 11.
Understanding who you are, your values, and what you're looking for in relationships.
The building blocks of connection — how friendships form and how to nurture them.
Expressing yourself clearly, listening actively, and navigating misunderstandings.
Reading social cues, conversation skills, and feeling more at ease in social situations.
Navigating dating apps safely, creating a genuine profile, and first date confidence.
What romantic relationships look like, the stages of connection, and managing emotions.
Understanding personal boundaries, how to communicate them, and respecting others'.
Recognising red flags, understanding what a healthy relationship feels like, and when to seek help.
Staying safe online, recognising grooming and scams, and protecting your digital identity.
Clinically-led, age-appropriate education on sexuality, sexual health, and informed decision-making.
Participants put their new skills into practice at a real-world social event — a fun, supported celebration to expand their social circle and build confidence.
